T-Wolves Prattle Print E-mail

Here come the Wolves?  I'm not about to start even taughting 35 wins let alone 40 but the Wolves look better after this years draft... The draft was looking good up until the midnight trade and after I've let the trade settle in a bit more I'm feeling better and better about the team.  The Wolves took a player that could be the next D-Wade or the next Shaddy in O.J. Mayo and turned that into a nice power-forward and a really nice shooter from distance.  Not only can Mike Miller stretch the court he helps flatten out the back-court rotation.  Foye is the point or 1 for now, we'll have to resign a back-up point but for now its Randy.  Big Al is the center or 5, I'm reading Stop'N'Pop's stuff over at Canis Hoopus here and here and I'm coming to terms with him at center.  Kevin Love is the power forward or 4 and I think with his combination of skills, knowledge and heart he'll be a top 15 4 in the league.  That having been said he's not an all-star but he's solid and he'll be a nice piece on this team.  At small forward or the 3 I like Gomez, if we can resign him, over Miller/Brewer.  I like Miller at shooting guard or the 2 spot.  I'd like to see Brewer, Gomez, and Miller as being somewhat interchangeable at these two positions.  I'd like to see Miller get a lot of time on the court but I like him at either spot, so when Gomez comes out I'd like to see Brewer slide in at the 2.  Instead of holding Shaddy I'd like to see him moved for a back-up point and possibly other assets.  I think Shaddy needs a new scene and the Wolves need a back-up point more then they need his instant off the bench offense.  Mainly because he doesn't see himself as a 6th man.  That's part of what I like about Miller as Brewer comes into his own I think Miller would be fine transitioning into the Wolves 6th man role.  The Wolves are going to be fairly well stocked in the bigs department if Richards can come through as a back-up and Love can show as a decent 4.  I'll have to do a total positional break-down.  Right now I'm thinking the Wolves are going to be a better up-tempo team but when we need to slow-down and play a half-court set I don't see a bigger threat in the league then Jefferson.  If Foye and Miller can spread the court and make the doubles pay, Gomez can spot up, and so can Love.  It'll be sweet to see this line-up and to see if they play with a little more pep and with a little more vigor then last years squad.
