The game is slipping away. It started so brilliantly for us. Tons of big hits, tons. Now the Wild are just getting unlucky it feels. They have controled a lot of the play but the Avs are just sort of a cheap team. They've got a handful of guys that can really piss you off more then they can play. It seems like the Avs are happy to just play Wild hockey and suffocate the life out of the game. Gabby really needs to get something going. I understand that we have a lot more shots on goal, but a lot of them are worthless shots. We are letting ourselves be taken out of the game...
I like seeing Reits in the game, he'll be a nice addition to Burns, Schultz, and Johnsson next season- I guess we'll probably play Skoula too. This is by no means me throwing in the towel (we are down two right now in gave five this is far from over) but its obvious we need to find some more offense next season. Varos, Beniot and Shepard all seem like they've come to play. I'm not going to be super upset about some of our losses this off season but we need someone to center Gabby's line. If there is anything that has really sucked about this game its that Gabby has been totally shut-down and he just doesn't have enough out there around him to penalize the Avs. Pavel has lost a little something in his game and the Fridge has played great but he's peaked. There won't be more from the Fridge then what we are seeing in this series. One thing for sure is we've got to start thinking about who will be on Gabby's line next year. I know we don't play lines but someone's got to be in place to play with him more then most, such as the past two seasons with Pavel. Best of luck to the Wild here over the last four minutes...I'm not holding my breath.
