Death march coming to a close Print E-mail

The Timberwolves season is mercifully almost over.  They play the Pistons tonight and then finish this the first year after KG tomorrow night.  Just as I remember where I was when that "histortical event happened sort of" last Wednesday I was infact watching the Wolves 1701 television rating night I will remember where I was when the Wolves finish this horrible season.  At the Twins game.  We've locked up the third worst record.  Now, its time to start looking forward...

I could break down a few things for you.  Like the fact the Wolves won three games in October, two games in November, two games in December, five in January, three in the chill of February, a whopping seven in March, and so far two in April.  Really what the hell happened to us in March?  That is way too many wins for March, next season if we are barely pulling off three wins a month we need to make sure we don't pull of a seven win month.  Let's be honest we can't even pull off being bad that well.  Granted the NBA holds a lottery for the top three picks every year.  The Wolves suck so what does using a few out-dated parts (Antoine Walker, Greg Buckner, Mark Madsen, Theo Ratlif, Micheal Doleac) to win an extra four-five games mean...it means Brook Lopez instead of Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley.  Granted time will only tell who is the better pick but wouldn't you feel betting going into next year with your $43 dollar season tickets knowing you have a stud coming in as your top pick instead of hoping you have a stud in your top pick?

Also, the NBA needs to say take the bottom ten teams and throw those teams names in a hopper (just one freaking ball too) and that should be the lottery.  It should also be used to pick the top ten draft slots.  Maybe it needs to be just the top five picks but it needs to be only included to those teams and they need to all have the same chance at the top pick.  Probably top five would make more sense.  Look at Jordan's draft, look at KG's draft the fifth pick in the draft carries a fair amount of value.  That way I think teams wouldn't tank at all.  Then again if a team is in a position like the Wolves were last year were if they dropped out of say the top 10 they could lose a pick due to trades I could see some people trying to tank.  Right now it doesn't make sense that the last team to not make it into the playoffs could get the top pick.  Think if the freaking Golden State Warriors get the top pick its total BS.  That's why I think the bottom five or ten teams names go into a hat and are drawn for the draft order.  That's just my take.
