In my other life where I work and toil to pay the actual bills I had to take a food safety course today. First off food safety is assuredly important stuff to have a handle on, but at the same point in time it’ll freak your shit out if you think about it. Today I went through my eight hours of mandatory training and outside of a few food code changes/updates what I took from today was our instructors love of the absurd. To honor the day and to remind everyone to always prepare their food safely here are a few choice quotes. You should probably think about this the next time you bite into a Dome-Dog. Chicken is dirty and bad Insects and rodents aren’t a food safety concern but instead are a food confidence problem. (How can you sell food if you’ve got rats running all over the place.) Its impossible to perform pathogenic free farming because pathogens are everywhere. Its also pretty stupid to think you could perform genetic free farming but that’s also stupid Don’t trust the damned chicken ever Never used galvanized anything Tomatoes cut are bad Pete’s private parts do not like coffee Eating [...]

Okay, well maybe I’m not but shit I’ve still got a blog so what’s up now? As of late sports in Minnesota are happening but they are falling the fuck apart. The Gophers blow at just about everything and its even hard to find/make optimism for the future. The Vikings lost two semi-key free-agents but they’ve still got time to bring players in for next year. The Wild are pretty much out of the playoffs. The Wolves started the season with no chance, Big Al recently became a problem and no surprises here they aren’t going to make any noise in the playoffs this season. The Twins just got screwed via Joe Nathans arm falling off and now questions abound on Joe Mauer’s future with the club. We’ve got nothing sports-wise but that doesn’t bother me today because spring is here.
We’ve taken Minnesota’s Team Logo colors and dispersed them via county state wide. Then for old-times sake slapped our old header logo on the top. Sure that header logo probably needs some touching up but its the concept that we were going for on this baby. What do you think?
Whew, just spilled beer on my keyboard, then decided to take it all apart and clean each individual key, and clean out the under carriage. But I did find out that the inner workings are protected from such mishaps. I wonder how many generations of keyboards it took to figure out a system to prevent a splash of beverage from wrecking the whole thing. And I also wonder how long it took before people got comfortable enough around the new fangled electronic thing to bring any liquid in to the same room. Now I can get to what I was trying to write about just before I knocked that shitty corona over. The new commercially available iLimb wins the UK’s MacRobert Engineering award. I saw this story from the BBC Nature and Science section (where I typically find things that interest me). It has to do with myoelectric prosthetics. These are prosthetics that have a small motor (or in the case of this new iLimb, several motors) that are activated by sensors placed topically on the residual limb. This part, I’m not quite sure on, but the sensors either pick up electric pulses from the muscles, or they just sense movement, [...]
