Quick thoughts on the game tonight.
- Darko was out for family reasons.
- Anthony Randolph killed it tonight
- Pek was Pek and still looks lost
- K-Love can play
- Flynn must have read what I wrote earlier in the day because tonight he cared
- The Pistons are garbage so keep it in your pants
- Beasley got eaten up
- Neither team seemed all that into playing defense
- Scoring is fun to watch
- How many 20/20 games can K-Love pull off a season?
- I love the promotion/relegation system in soccer (world football) and it’d be great if the NBA could pull this off. It’d make the Wolves hungry and it’d help to keep the good players on teams that matter. Just think about guys like K-Love playing for the Wolves if they were going to get relegated. K-Love could find himself in a lesser league unless he and his boys pulled the team out of the fire. Just think about it for a little while. Usually when teams relegate the players have to take pay-cuts because theoretically they were part of the reason they team has fallen from grace. Guys like Beasley and Flynn would try each and every night. NBA garbage time would only occur in pre-season. You’d have to shorten the NBA season possibly or at least shrink the league. I think it’d be tight.
- The K-Love max contract talk is funny because how the hell can we know what the next CBA will even allow.
- FIBA already exists and a promotion/relegation system in the NBA would allow for more free movement from the NBA to other FIBA leagues. Think if Rubio had been able to move over as soon as he was drafted?
- In the promotion/relegation system you would no longer need the D-League because the D-League would become the feeder league to the NBA. Think about the Wolves sucking next season and then the Sioux Fall Stampede end up in the NBA, that would be mind-blowingly cool. It’d suck for the Wolves but that would be all the more reason not to sign hacks like Flynn.
- None of the STARTERS had a positive +/- tonight. Love and Pek were at 0
- Ridnour didn’t miss tonight 5-5 from the field and 5-5 from the line
- Hayward had a great night, but I still don’t think he can do it night in and out. Let’s see how he does next game and I’ll pass some judgement
- The black jerseys did look nice.
