Watching Day 2 of the Olympics. Apolo Ohno just blew away the field…its crazy how physics doesn’t even seem to effect him.

Short track speed skating is such a great bang-bang sport its fun to watch. 13.5 laps is the game tonight. One lap takes like less then 15 seconds. Ohno didn’t even make a move until roughly two laps where remaining and then when he made his move effortlessly around the four skaters in front of on the outside. Think about it he went outside, where he had a greater distance to cover, and easily over-took his competitors.

Now, onto women’s moguls.  This is nuts too.  The Olympics are insane.  These women are flying down this mogul course.  I know its just the semi-finals, but its crazy how fast all of these sports go.  The moguls are supposed to be where Canada wins its first gold medal.  Pretty sweet.  They do insane acrobatics then they ski a mogul course, nuts.  The balance that these athletes have is bananas.  Sometimes I almost fall down just getting out of bed but shoot these people do insane stuff.  When Kearney hit that second auto-boof man she really exploded off that kicker, totally stayed out of the mucky-muck-bro.

Canada has some sweet snow-pants sort of wish I would have had something that slamming back in fifth grade.  Instead I was working your basic black bids.

Moguls just became officially lame.  The semi-finals goes from a wide-out field of 27 to a tightly parsed final field of 20.  That’s right folks they knock-off seven people.  What the fuck?  Most sports actually pare their fields down from the semi-finals to the finals but seven from a field of 27 seems like everyone winning in t-ball.

Semi-finals for the 1500 meter short-track is about to start.  Ohno is rocking hard.  The whole white glove-black glove deal is sort of lame.  Look-out its a seven member field.  The outer-lane usually jumps but tonight it was the inner lane-what gives?  Ohno settles into the back of the pack just sort of pacing.  Ohno moved up during the race but sat in at third until the fifth lap and then starts flying.  There might have been a bump what will happen?  Oh no, bump, no bump, Ohno moves onto the next round.

When short track speed skating, look-out for the patented Korean pass.  That fucker will get you each and every time.  Those Korean’s have that shit down and don’t forget that its patented.  Also, the French tend to pass on the inside so if you just skate on the inside you’ll totally shut them down and since their French they’ll only try to pass you once.  That makes it pretty easy to deny them.

The whole luge thing with the Luge Federation saying it was the luger’s fault not the track is extremely lame.  Obviously, the track was fucked up.  They totally changed the track.  Just own it.  The track was bad and now a young athlete is dead not because he didn’t know how to make it down the hill but because the hill didn’t know how to let him.

Wow, the 1500 meter short-track final was intense.  South Korea fucked themselves big-time.  What the hell.  They cheated Ohno out of first place then they took each other out and he ends up with second.  Silver is pretty tight though.  Good work Mr. Ohno, well played.

Having torn my ACL a few years back watching the women’s moguls my knees hurt.  Now, one of the ladies who just went down the hill currently has a torn ACL.  I have to say from my experience before I had my surgery my knee felt great due to all of the pre-physical therapy that I went through.  I understand that you can really strengthen your knee when you want too, but it still hurts to see that much stress going into one’s knee.

Heather McFee got too far into the back-seat and just couldn’t pull it off.  Nailed that mid-section but wow that second kicker ate her up.  Layed into way too much, dug those tales in too much.  Too bad, better luck four years from now.  Let’s hope we still have snow.

Now, more luge but sadly I think I have to turn in.  Good night Olympics, good night.
