I’m watching the Wolves game tonight.  So many things are going on in the game that I’ve been jotting down stuff, but I think I’m just going to go bullet point on this beast.

1. I still remember going to a Wolves v. Mavs game back in the first season.  I also remember always hating the Mavs.  Recently the Wolves haven’t been good enough for a rivalry but maybe tonights the night we break the nine game losing streak.
2. Dirk isn’t starting.  I guess he missed shoot-around.  I wonder what Cuban has to say about this bit of knowledge.
3. Its really easy to hate on Cuban.  At least he does make the NBA interesting.  Who wouldn’t want to know what Glen Taylor is thinking?
4. Hollins as a starter is working.  He’s having a great run so far this month.  Sort of like Jefferson’s spurt last January, as Hollins is finding his game this February so are the Wolves.
5. K-Love is still playing hard now that he’s not a starter.  He’s still getting starter minutes though.
6. The Hollins/Jefferson/Love combo is really gelling.  I think that Hollins looks more free at the 4.
7. Flynn looks like a rookie a lot more then he did early in the season.
8. Why doesn’t Jason Terry get more burn?  He’s way better then Kidd is anymore in my opinion.
9. Dirk is getting worked by our “little” big-three.  I haven’t watched any Mavs games this years because I hate the Mavs.  Dirk is looking lazy at any point in time he doesn’t have the ball.
10. Hollins is a highlight machine
11. Close game at the half.  Neither team really seems to be expelling a ton of energy.
12. Ryan Gomes is the lost wolf this season.  Last year we needed him everywhere the 2,3,4 and periodically the 5.  Now we need him at the 3 and periodically the 4.
13. This one’s for my boy Leon but I’ve been using “fuzzy” math all night long and with my calculations Kidd to Dirk is the greatest combo ever.  In basketball and everything else too.
14. Cory Brewer is coming into his own PERIOD.  Brewer has a shot all of a sudden, he has handle and tons of confidence.
15. Third quarter was Hollins’ quarter.  Dirk couldn’t stop him, Gooden couldn’t stop him and the bag-o-bones (Dampier) they threw at him was weak too.  Hollins is an athlete and the Mavs only real athlete of size (Josh H) is having a bad season.
16. In the fourth quarter the Mavs started to chip away at the Wolves.  Kidd rested most of the 3rd and now he’s back in making the charge.
17. THe Mavs are playing with three PGs and the Wolves don’t know how to exploit it.
18. Flynn can’t handle the full-court pressure.  Ellington got worked too.
19. Hollins fouled out with 2:35 left.  He had something like three fouls in a minutes of game time.  Too bad.  One of the fouls was a weak one on Dirk the other two were pretty solid fouls he committed on Kidd.  The first of the two by Hollins on Kidd was a serious elbow that luckily for all involved didn’t connect.
20. Love is a master of positioning.  There was a play early in the fourth where he had such amazing positioning Dirk that Dampier didn’t even try to defend Love’s easy put-back and just started trotting down the floor.
21. The refs give Dirk way too many weak/easy fouls.  Dirk doesn’t deserve half of the bull-shit calls he gets.  I love it when Dirk misses free-throws.
22. Cory Brewer his a dagger to put us up by one 107-106 but then Dirk got that cheap foul to get to the line and made 1 of 2.  Tied game.
23. Jonny Flynn with the drive and the bucket.  Wolves up by a deuce.
24. The Mavs dance team strips during the game.  They started in pants with sparkle-laden tank-tops and now they are wearing sparkly bikinis.
25. The Mavs are missing their free-throws.  That looks like its going to be the difference.
26. Brewer took a horrible three with the clock winding down and Dirk fouled him.  It was legit because Dirk is the one who gets the weak BS calls.
27. Now, if Cory could just sink these.
28. 1-1
29. 2-2
30. Yes!!! 3-3 fuck yeah Cory.
31. Four point game with one minute left.
32. Iso Flynn com eon guys
33. Ellington with the dagger!  Three from the corner on a drive by Flynn that all of the Mavs sunk-down on.  Man what a play by the rookies.
34. 32.3 seconds left with the Wolves up by 7!!!!!!!!!!!!
35. Dirk always plays cheap
36. Dirk needs to shave
37. We win
38. The Mavs played like sally-bitches at the end of the game.
39. I think the Mavs should pout more.
40. WOW, we killed them in the last 3 minutes.  What’s going on with the Mavs?  The Wolves suck.
41. Cory Brewer had a great finish
42. The triangle killed the Mavs.  The Wolves took a while to get the hang of the triangle but they are deadly now.
43. That’s our first road win of 2010.  Go Wolves, Go.
44. Wayne Ellington’s three sealed it.  Cory Brewer’s free throws before that three took the Mavs and Dirk off their game and it was probably over then, but Ellington’s three slammed the door shut.

I’m going to have to rewatch and rethink this game a little tomorrow but wow.  Great finish.  The Wolves wanted that one and they got it.  That’s why the Mavs will never win a championship.
