What can I say about the game that hasn’t already been said? I will try anyway.
Crushing. Demoralizing. Cursed. Fumbles. What other words can be used to describe what happened to the Vikings last night? I am sure some of us want to use expletives and scream them from the rooftops. Sometimes I ask why I bother watching when we always do something to lose? It’s in my blood, my mind, my psyche, my everything. Some people scoff at us sports lovers saying that it’s trivial. Maybe it is a little. In the end after this game, our lives will go on(unless you had a heart attack last night which I am pretty sure I might have).
I could go through all the bad plays, the fumbles, missed opportunities, or the INTERCEPTION but I won’t. Everyone knows what happened and I won’t add anything terribly meaning to the discussion. I just want that pass back. Just let us take that one pass by Favre back. That’s all I want. I will let people slap me in the face until I am black and blue to get that pass back.
One thing I will comment on is Troy Aikman and basically any other announcer who talks about Adrian Peterson. Stop talking about his handshake being so hard. It doesn’t mean anything. He certainly couldn’t hold onto the ball with his massive handshake. Just stop.
This will be my last post about the Vikings until the NFL Draft. It just hurts too much to think about it, let alone write about.RIP 2009-2010 football.

what pisses me off are people picking the game apart with the minutiae, excuses, bad ref calls, cheap shots, etc. None of that would have mattered had the vikes not fumbled 5 times and/or had the defensive line protected Favre. Two things: fumbles and protecting your f*cking quarterback. We could have gone into the half 7 points up. We gave them the ball on our 10 yard line. we should have won 35-14. half their points came directly from our fumbles and we gave up at least 7 given points we were about to put on the board. Not to mention the loss of momentum and time off the clock.
and when favre goes down 20 times and even he is wincing . . . where the hell were the blockers. the last throw easily could have been from not seeing/thinking straight.
final thought: fumbles and defensive line. go f*ck yourselves.
I guess we have to give credit to the Saints defense for really giving it to our beloved Vikings. After saying that I have to say we definitely screwed the pooch.
I agree with Alex that we didn’t block all that well in this game. We didn’t pick up a third of their blitzes and we didn’t bring it to them via the running game. If we had brought the pain via the running game a little more through-out the game they probably wouldn’t have been blizting us non-stop. Oh well its in the past now.
Now, its time to starting looking towards the future. Let’s hope we have the Favre situation and the Pat Williams situation locked up by the draft so we can make our picks accordingly.
no doubt. there is an incredible amount to look forward to for next season. so much of our talent is young and signed on for multiple years. we shouldn’t loose too many big names and keep a lot of the team together.
just what is going to happen with favre? if he’s in or not for another year, make that known now. the team either needs to seriously look for a new quarterback or start grooming a replacement should his hip break in week 9. tavaris is no steamin willie beamin to favre the cap rooney.
I’m with you on that. The Favre situation is the number one priority.
It’ll also be really interesting to see what happens with the salary cap. Will next year be a capped or uncapped season? What does an uncapped season mean to the NFL? and the Vikes?
Ray Edwards would be a free agent if its a capped year and if so would we have the cash to bring him back? Lots of great questions to delve into this off-season and that’s probably why the NFL is so great-it never ends.
