Wolves Bullet Points

01/11/2010
By Drakesax

The Wolves are horrible right now.  Their 3-21 record is more than proof to that point.  The roster is still very flexible for this season and extremely flexible for the next few years.  Is now the time to make a few moves or should we sit on our hands for a little while longer to see what offers develop?  Click on the more link for all of the bullet points!

  • Brook Lopez was the pick last year.  We missed it and now we are going to play catch-up trying to fix that mistake.  Lopez and Big Al make a much better pairing down-low then Love and Big Al do.
  • Big Al means less to our team then Kevin Love!  Love’s scoring isn’t what Al’s is and he doesn’t have the moves down-low but he has way more game.  Love can pass, he can rebound, defend, move with out the ball and basically knows basketball better then Al.
  • The Wolves should trade  Big Al or Love.  I vote Big Al.
  • Big Al’s scoring will give the Wolves more in return then Kevin Love’s all around game.
  • The Wolves need to try to bring in David Lee.  Lee has mad game and I’d love to see him with Love.
  • If the Wolves don’t bring a starting quality center onto their roster this season they need to draft one.
  • Moving Big Al could bring  back quality draft picks
  • The Wolves don’t have a quality 3 even when Gomes is healthy
  • The Wolves wing play is so bad that David Kahn should be fired if its not addressed this off-season.
  • Rubio/Flynn is making less sense by the day with our horrible wing play
  • That being said Flynn is showing us quite a bit of game.  Just like its been said all over the place in one on one situations Flynn is uncover-able, he needs to work on his finishing, outside shot, and defense to become a top point guard in the league but he’s well on his way.
  • Wayne Ellington needs minutes and with Gomes out its time to let him get 20+ a night.
  • Brewer needs more minutes too just to develop into everything that he can be in the league.  I don’t think Brewer is an All-Star caliber player but he’s a decent starter on our team and a quality rotational player on a contender.  We might as well let him be what he is and decide if he fits into our long-term plans or if he’s just another bargaining chip.
  • The Wolves need to get more athletic or physical.  If they are going to go with Love and Big Al then they need to get some athletic slashers on the outside and then they need someone strong to compliment the second unit on the outside.
  • Ramon Sessions is going to be traded before the deadline.  I’m not sure what we’ll get back for him but I’m fairly sure that we’ll move him for something.  Here is to hoping its a 6′-9″ish small forward with mad hops and a soft touch.
